🗳️ VG Landstuhl mayoral election – At a glance

• Election day: Sunday, 25 October 2026

• Possible runoff election: Sunday, 8 November 2026

• Polling stations: 08:00 to 18:00

• What is being elected: the full-time mayor of the Landstuhl collective municipality

• Term of office: 8 years, taking office on 1 July 2027

🏛️ A change at the top

Dr. Peter Degenhardt has been at the helm of the Landstuhl collective municipality since 2013 and is not standing for election this time. The citizens of the town of Landstuhl and the local municipalities of Bann, Hauptstuhl, Kindsbach, Krickenbach, Linden, Mittelbrunn, Oberarnbach, Queidersbach, Schopp, Stelzenberg and Trippstadt will therefore decide on his successor.

⚖️ How the election works

Each voter has one vote. The candidate who receives more than half of the valid votes is elected. If none of the three candidates achieves this majority, a runoff election between the two candidates with the most votes will take place on 8 November 2026. A simple majority is then sufficient.

✉️ Postal voting

The election notifications have been sent out, and postal voting is already underway. Postal voting documents can be requested in three ways:

• Online via the collective municipality's application – until Wednesday, 21.10.2026, 12:00

• Via QR code on the election notification

• In person at the election office at Landstuhl Town Hall (1st floor, Room 120) during opening hours – voting can also be done directly on site, until Friday, 23.10.2026, 18:00
