Today, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, around 2.95 million eligible voters in Rhineland-Palatinate are being called to elect the 19th State Parliament.
The polling stations are open until 6:00 PM — anyone who has not yet voted can still do so today.
Each voter has two votes: with the constituency vote (first vote), a direct candidate is elected; with the state vote (second vote), a party is chosen. A total of 101 seats are allocated in the State Parliament. Only parties that receive at least 5 percent of the state votes can enter parliament.
The counting of votes begins at 6:00 PM. Initial projections and, later, the preliminary election result are expected over the course of the evening.
